Angry Birds promising a little Facebook love for Valentine’s Day ( Angry Birds, coming to Facebook Feb. 14 ) - So many people love Angry Birds, it’s fitting that Rovio, the company behind the games, has chosen Valentine’s Day to launch on Facebook. Rovio announced it had chalked up more than half a billion downloads of its Angry Birds games by last November with them being played a total of 300 million minutes a day — adding up to more than 200,000 years worth of Angry Bird playing time. Next the Angry Birds will be flocking to Facebook with Rovio inviting fans to join in the event: “Nothing says ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ like competitive pig-popping among friends!” reads the invitation. The Angry Birds games for tablets and smartphones are available at Apple’s iTunes app store, in the Android Market and the Nokia app store.

Rovio has also marked another event — the Year of the Dragon — with downloadable wallpapers for mobile phones, tablets and computers. A little saccharine, but hey it saves the cost of the card — especially if you have more than one Valentine, although if that’s the case we wouldn’t recommend sharing your Valentine Camera+ photo on Facebook or Twitter.Forget the candy hearts and instead let your kids do some Valentine’s colouring with an app that comes with 20 pictures they can colour in and save in a photo file for sharing. For the junior digerati, a way to make Valentine’s cards that saves on paper and keeps kids entertained.For Windows Phone fans, here are a couple of love quotes apps to impress your Valentine or friends on your social networks.
